What is Contingency Recruitment?

Contingency recruitment is a phrase used to describe a recruitment service where Clients are supplied with Applicants on an “ad hoc” and as needed basis.

Aurum International is only paid if a Client vacancy is successfully filled. In comparison, many search firms will only engage with a Client if they are paid a non-recoverable retainer at the outset, meaning they are paid a fee irrespective of whether they successfully fill the nominated position.

Although Contingency Recruitment involves a limited search, utilising existing Applicants and contacts only, Aurum International’s depth of experience often enable’s a swift response to Client needs, with a small number of well matched Applicants being introduced.

Whether you chose Contingency Recruitment or any of the other service levels offered, all include detailed Applicant screening (including a 90 minute interview), review of the Applicants CV, and professional management of the interview process.

When should I use Contingency Recruitment?

  • To supplement existing recruitment sources to increase the probability of a successful outcome
  • For speculative searches that are not time dependent
  • Where the skills and experience required are broad in nature

Where a Job Specification is very specific in the experience required, or where a large number of positions need to be filled quickly, the larger base of relevant Applicants generated by a the more focused Executive Search  service would be recommended.
